OPAH! Greekfest celebrates a new transition

Every year near the end of August GreekFest holds the spotlight on entertainment in the West Loop area. Patrons enjoy Greek food and Greek music, and Greek artisans pepper the area with jewelry and belly dancing scarves. Locals and not-so-locals alike visit in search of the opportunity to experience everything Greek.

On Monday, four members of the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) were met by nearly 200 counter-protesters and observers. The main message the WBC wished to convey was “God hates Jews and homosexuals.” The main message of the counter-protesters: Anything but hate.
