Fire & Ice: Two home season closers; vastly different results

Saturday, the UIC women’s basketball team and women’s gymnastics teams each finished out their home seasons. In gymnastics, the Lady Flames soared to new heights, scoring a season best 193.725, toppling the Northern Illinois University (NIU) Huskies in the process. In basketball, the Flames did not fare so well, giving up another early game eight point lead to close out their season with a loss (88-77) to the Valparaiso University Crusaders.

Swallowing pain, Flames sweep past Centenary

An assortment of wrapped ankles, shins, and wrists couldn’t keep the UIC Women’s Gymnastics team down tonight as they showed what it means to be true sportswomen at the Physical Education Building, cruising to a solid win against the visiting Centenary College (192.100 – 187.725).

Women’s gymnastics stumbles, but Kremer/Turk turn in a pair of wins

Tumbles and miss-steps on balance beam and vault held UIC’s Woman’s Gymnastics team at 189.350, a solid 2 points behind Illinois State University’s 191.375 points. Kayleigh Kremer and Chantel Turk turn in 1st place finishes on the floor and vault respectively.
